I am a music graduate with more than twenty years experience of songwriting / composing, arranging and performing music. I've sung and played piano, keyboards, guitars, bass & accordion professionally in numerous ensembles over the years, including function & jazz bands and in small orchestral ensembles for musicals. I've also performed many times as 'Benny' in different professional ABBA tribute acts, both in England and in Europe, as 'Rick Wright' in a Pink Floyd tribute and in two Beatles tributes, as 'John' & 'George' respectively. 

I lived in Los Angeles for some time, performing and composing – writing an instrumental classical album, working with the composer & music team on an independent feature film, working as the resident Musical Director / pianist with the 'Write Act' repertory company, Hollywood, and as production assistant in a West Hollywood recording studio.

Back in the UK, I worked as Musical Director and keyboardist for various musical theatre companies - on shows as stylistically ranging as 'Into The Woods', 
'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Scrooge - the musical', 'Carousel', 'Fiddler on the Roof', 'Les Miserables', 'The Wedding Singer', '9 to 5'  and numerous compilation shows. This always entailed arranging the music for the appropriate size band, and for the singers available. In other shows I have played both lead and rhythm guitar and have sung as a pit singer.

I enjoyed a solo residency for three years in a five star hotel's piano bar, so have an extensive jazz and cocktail piano repertoire under my fingers. Much later, I went on a tour of Sardinia playing in Jazz Venues with The Red Hot Rats. 

Until recently, I wrote for and performed in Gypskazz - a world-styles music band, and currently write for and perform with Raven's Wedding - an indie folk rock band. I am often booked to play solo piano or accordion for private and corporate events. 

My composition work runs alongside my performance work. I have written in most styles ranging from songs for pop, rock & funk bands, jazz band and vocalist, to bigband, full orchestra, string quartet, solo piano, solo guitar, solo accordion and any number of different ensembles, both large and small. I have written for film and radio, and appear on several commercial CDs, including for 'La Jolie Ronde' foreign language teaching for children. I have recently been involved in several writing projects, most importantly a musical, a jazz album, and jazz influenced music for two accordions.

I was honoured to have the opportunity to produce the most recent albums of Gypskazz, Raven's Wedding and Chapeaux as well as my own jazz / blues album. 
 

In 2003 I wrote the 1st place winning song in the USA's 'Billboard Magazine Songcontest'.

I also run 'Happy With That', a not-for-profit music management agency and Cauchemar Records, which acts a parent company for my recording / production work.

When I'm not performing or writing music, I am also writing a novel and enjoy cooking.
